Art in the Gardens
Held on 3 - 4 September at the Sheffield Botanical Gardens. Had a wonderful weekend exhibiting my work here for the first time. Sold loads of pieces and was presented the Gold Award for the best exhibition stand. (Images)Art at Andronicas
Andronicas, a bright, modern venue located at the new Peterborough Garden Park hosts a series of exhibitions showcasing local talent. This has provided an ideal opportunity to enjoy a dose of culture with your gourmet coffee since 1 July 2010. The first in this series of exhibitions showcased my paintings alongside the impressive work of Mick Stump in the Mezzanine Gallery. Followed by an exhibition of paintings by Ann Ardron, Jo Conteh, Garth Bayley and Eddie Butterworth. The current exhibition, "Elemental" displays vibrant works by Garth Bayley, Prue Pye, Wendy Dominguez and some of my work, too. Each year, the artists and craftspeople of the Peterborough area open their studios, workspaces and homes to the public. They reveal the processes they use to create their work and invite visitors to learn about the ideas behind it. It is this interaction that makes the Open Studios event so special.
The 2011 event took place in June and e
xhibiting alongside my paintings was the stunning work of
Denise Brown - Jewellery and Ceramics
Christine Whithall - Ceramics
Helen Roberts - CeramicsArt in Action
During the Open Studios Event, visitors were treated to Raku demonstrations on the terrace overlooking the lovely garden and were able to see how each piece of art is created before purchasing. We all prepared biscuit fired pieces which we then glazed and fired in situ. The weather was (mostly) good and visitors enjoyed delicious homebaked treats while taking in the art.The 'Coastal Drift' Exhibition
Took place in 2010 at The Yarrow Gallery in Oundle was a great success and then took up residence at the Museum and Art Gallery in Peteborough in April. If you didn't get the opportunity to visit the exhibition, here is a little taster below:
